A Message from the President of GHACC

To our members, business owners, community leaders, and friends,

Today, many within our Haitian-American community are experiencing uncertainty following the suspension of Temporary Protected Status (TPS). While we await the federal government’s next steps and additional guidance, we recognize that many families, employers, and entrepreneurs are facing difficult questions about what the future may hold. Moments like these test our faith, our resilience, and our ability to look beyond today’s uncertainty toward tomorrow’s opportunities.

On behalf of the Greater Haitian American Chamber of Commerce (GHACC), I want you to know that you are not alone. Many of you came to this country with little more than hope and a willingness to work. Through sacrifice, long hours, determination, and perseverance, you built businesses that now provide for your families, create jobs, serve your neighbors, and contribute to the strength of Florida and the United States. Your business is more than a source of income. It is your dream, your legacy, and your contribution to the American story.

Our Chamber was founded to strengthen businesses, create economic opportunities, and help our community succeed. That mission has not changed. While GHACC does not take political positions on immigration policy, we understand that decisions affecting thousands of hardworking entrepreneurs have real economic consequences for businesses, employees, customers, and the communities we proudly serve.

That is why we are expanding the GHACC Business Protection Plan – TPS Business Owner Edition: Protect What You’ve Built.

This initiative is designed to help TPS business owners prepare, protect their businesses, and plan confidently for the future. Over the coming weeks, GHACC will host educational workshops, legal information sessions, business continuity planning events, and strategic partnerships with trusted professionals who can provide reliable guidance and practical solutions.

Our goal is simple:

Not to create fear… But to create preparedness. Not to focus on uncertainty… But to focus on protecting everything you have worked so hard to build.

We encourage every business owner to remain calm, stay informed through trusted legal professionals and official government sources, and continue investing in your business, your employees, and your community. The Haitian-American community has never been defined by the obstacles placed before it. We have always been defined by our courage, our work ethic, our entrepreneurial spirit, and our unwavering belief that through hard work and opportunity, tomorrow can be better than today. That belief remains as strong today as it has ever been.

As President of the Greater Haitian American Chamber of Commerce, I want every member to know that GHACC will continue standing beside you—not only with words, but with action. We will continue advocating for small businesses, providing trusted resources, building strategic partnerships, and creating opportunities that help our members succeed.

Our message is simple:

Stay informed. Stay prepared. Protect your business. Protect your family. Protect what you’ve built.

Together, we prepare. Together, we protect. Together, we build a stronger future.

With respect and hope,

Joseph  Augustin
President
