The Greater Haitian American Chamber of Commerce (GHACC) proudly congratulates
Bilyne Agnes Charles Geffrard, our esteemed Membership Director and Board Member, on her recent academic achievement. On May 3, 2025, Bilyne will graduate from the University of Central Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality and Tourism Management, with a concentration in
Event Management.

Bilyne’s journey is nothing short of inspiring. Born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, and a graduate of the prestigious Collège Marie-Anne, Bilyne immigrated to the United States at age 16. Her story is one of faith, resilience, and an unwavering pursuit of excellence. From earning multiple associate degrees to achieving professional certifications across event design and business operations, her academic journey reflects a commitment to lifelong learning and purposeful leadership.

Her graduation from UCF marks not only a personal milestone but also a larger testament to the transformative power of higher education. Today, more Black women are earning degrees than ever before. According to the National Center for Education Statistics, Black women are now the most educated demographic group in the United States when measured by enrollment and degree completion trends. Nearly 68% of Black women aged 25 to 35 have attended college, and Black women accounted for 67% of associate and bachelor’s degrees earned by Black students in recent years.

Bilyne’s accomplishments serve as a beacon for our community and a model for future generations.
Her leadership within GHACC and her example in the broader business and cultural community is a reminder of what is possible when purpose, education, and faith align. The next part of her academic journey is equally commendable. Bilyne has been accepted into UCF’s Master of Science in
Hospitality and Tourism Management program, set to begin in Fall 2025.

As GHACC continues to champion education, entrepreneurship, and equity, we proudly celebrate Bilyne Geffrard’s remarkable achievement and continued service to our organization and the Haitian-American community.
